Where's Beagles?

I have another parrot, an African Grey. His name is Kio. Although Beagles and Kio were not very close to each other, they get along fine.

This morning, Kio said: “Beagles! Beagles… where are you?

I came to Kio, I said: “No more. Beagles is gone. Beagles is dead.” My voice cracked. Kio was staring back at me and he saw my tears falling. I walked away… “Beagles… no more”.

Kio understands “No more”.

Goodbye To a Loved One

Beagles was a friend, a companion, a very dear playmate, and more. She died in my arms last night, 17 March 2008 at 9:30 pm.

I came home late, around 9:00 pm. The moment I opened the door to my apartment, I greeted her.

“Hello, Beagles, how are you? How’s my pet?”. I opened the door of her cage, reached for her with my right hand. She held my fingers, and gave her a kiss.

Beagles is a blue-fronted amazon parrot. She’s a severe loss to me. I feel so awful right now.

I’ll talk about what had happened later.

Singer Discovered on Youtube

Imagine one of the greatest rock bands in the world going after you because of some of your videos posted on Youtube. Unimaginable and totally insane.

But that’s exactly how Arnel Pineda from the Philippines was discovered by Neal Schon, lead guitrarist of JOURNEY. Here’s how Neal Schon described it.

“I was frustrated about not having a singer,” explains guitarist Neal Schon, “so I went on YouTube for a couple of days and just sat on it for hours. I was starting to think I was never going to find anybody. But then I found The Zoo and I watched a bunch of different video clips that they had posted. After watching the videos over and over again, I had to walk away from the computer and let what I heard sink in because it sounded too good to be true. I thought, ‘he can’t be that good.’ But he is that good, he’s the real deal and so tremendously talented. Arnel doesn’t sound synthetic and he’s not emulating anyone. I tried to get a hold of him through YouTube and I finally heard from him that night, but it took some convincing to get him to believe that it really was me and not an imposter.”

The rest is rock history.
